The Ancient Chishan Stone Bridge

The Ancient Chishan Stone Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Shangli County.

The Ancient Chishan Stone Bridge is located on the middle reaches of the Chishan River in Chishan Town, Shangli County. The bridge spans 30 meters in length, 6.5 meters in width, and 7.3 meters in height. It is a three-arch stone bridge built in the 16th year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1537 AD).

The Chishan Bridge covers a construction area of 195 square meters, is oriented to connect north and south, and has a protected zone extending 10 meters around the bridge, a construction control zone extending 15 meters around the bridge, and a maximum allowable construction height of 10 meters.

Due to years of neglect, the Ancient Chishan Stone Bridge is severely damaged. Several of its piers have been eroded by floods, and many stone foundation blocks have been washed away. It is recommended that repairs be carried out as soon as possible to ensure its preservation.
