Jixian Baxianzhuozi Nature Reserve

Introduction Located in the northern part of Xiaogang Township, Jixian County, about 1.2 kilometers northeast of Taipinggou and 55 kilometers northeast of the county town. The area includes Baxianzhuozi Mountain, Heishui River, Limutai, Yanglou, Taipinggou, and Changzhou Village. It is bounded by the Shidonggou watershed to the northeast, reaches Limutai at the northwest corner, starts from the Heishui River in the south, and ends at Changzhou Village in the west, and also borders the Mesoproterozoic geological section. The forested area covers 4,161 hectares, with a forest coverage rate of 80%. The name “Baxianzhuozi” comes from a legend. It is said that when the Eight Immortals were crossing the sea, they once drank and rested on a large square rock in this mountain valley. This rock has been preserved to this day.
