Jizhou River Park in Jixian County, Tianjin is a national wetland park.

Jizhou River Park in Jixian County, Tianjin is located at the intersection of South Outer Ring Road and Zhongchang Road in Jixian County, Tianjin. The park consists of Bihe Garden and Shuangshui Garden, and is open to the public free of charge all day.

The groundbreaking ceremony for Jizhou River Park in Jixian County, Tianjin was held on March 31, 2008. As a key project among the ten people's livelihood projects initiated by the Jixian County Committee and County Government, the park has a planned total area of 300 mu, with a total investment of over 45 million yuan. It is designed with two major thematic landscape areas: Bihe Garden and Shuangshui Garden. Based on the direction of the river and urban main roads, combined with the division of urban functional zones, it forms an ecological landscape structure system of “two gardens and one belt, integrating points and lines.” The park has planted over one million various greening seedlings, designed with a “community” approach to landscaping. A total of 157 varieties of premium plants and flowers have been planted, including Chinese pine, cedar, water lily, lotus, white crabapple, pearl bush, and early rhododendron. The proportion of evergreen species exceeds 30%. Seven large-scale sculptures based on historical figures and stories from Jixian are integrated into the design, giving the park a rich cultural heritage. The entire project was completed in September 2010. It is currently the largest ecological-themed park in Jixian, combining sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment, and has become another iconic landscape showcasing Jixian’s humanistic and ecological environment, reflecting the unique charm of a medium-sized tourist city.

Bihe Garden in Jizhou River Park is positioned as a large-scale street-side public landscape green space. Utilizing the existing water system, it highlights aquatic elements by creating artificial water surfaces to form a visual and landscape focal point, crafting a riverside space that embodies “long dikes at dawn, clear water with emerald lotuses.”

Shuangshui Garden is laid out along three main scenic axes: the Water Channel Corridor, Ancient Charm of the Long River, and the Sandy River Riverside Belt. These define five functional zones: the Leisure Sightseeing Area, the Shaded Resting Area, the Entertainment & Fitness Area, the Cultural Corridor Area, and the Management Area. Alongside extensive greening, the garden is accentuated with distinctive architectural features. Cultural sculptures such as “The Yellow Emperor Seeking the Dao,” “Li Bai Inscribing a Plaque,” and “The Five Dragons of the Dou Clan” vividly recreate long-standing historical tales of Jixian. By blending history, nature, and cultural landscapes, the garden fully showcases the unique charm of Jixian’s ancient city and the distinctive character of Tianjin’s “back garden.”
