Yanping Xiyuan Agritainment is located within the Xiyuan Gorge National 3A-level Tourist Attraction. It consists of several establishments, including Xiyuan Farmhouse Restaurant, Old Donkey Restaurant, Jiulong Waterfall Manor, Zhongyan Manor, and Xiyuan Forest Manor. This rural tourism operator enjoys convenient transportation and a prime location—just 3.5 km from downtown Nanping, 5.5 km from the Fuyin Expressway interchange and the Nanping Railway Station, and 170 km from Wuyishan Airport, with direct tourist shuttle buses available. The site is fully equipped with supporting infrastructure, featuring a visitor center covering over 20 acres, a standardized eco-friendly parking lot, star-rated public toilets, a shopping area, and rest pavilions, offering comprehensive services.

Since 1997, Nanping Xiyuan Tourism Development Company has vigorously developed rural tourism projects spearheaded by Xiyuan Farmhouse Restaurant, Old Donkey Restaurant, Jiulong Waterfall Manor, Zhongyan Manor, and Xiyuan Forest Manor. These have increasingly demonstrated both economic and social benefits. In 2010, the five farmhouse restaurants received 250,000 visitors, generating tourism revenue of over 8 million yuan and providing jobs for more than 250 people. From January to November 2011, they hosted 240,000 visitors with tourism income of 8.1 million yuan. In 2009, the site was rated as the only rural tourism demonstration spot in Northern Fujian by the Provincial Tourism Bureau, and in June 2011, it was honored as one of the first batch of provincial three-star rural tourism operators.

Nanping Xiyuan Tourism Development Company is a provincial three-star rural tourism operator, covering an area of 15,000 square meters with an operational space of 5,000 square meters. Characterized by “eating farmhouse meals, staying in farmhouse rooms, and enjoying farmhouse scenery,” it is a comprehensive rural tourism destination integrating “eating, accommodation, travel, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.” Currently, it has 80 guest rooms, restaurants capable of serving 1,000 diners simultaneously, and 50 standard rooms. Facilities include an OK club, a multi-functional meeting hall, and a hostel—all well-equipped, comfortable, and convenient—with 150 beds and the capacity to accommodate 150 overnight guests daily. The site offers over 20 distinctive rural tourism activities such as flower viewing, waterfall appreciation, fishing, mountain climbing, fruit picking, snail collecting, and glutinous rice cake pounding, allowing visitors to experience authentic eco-tourism far removed from urban life. The operator is also renowned across the province for its unique farmhouse cuisine, which includes rustic flavors such as free-range chicken, free-range duck, local vegetables, forest cuisine, traditional farm dishes, and medicinal diets. There are also traditional handmade offerings like sticky rice cakes and glutinous rice dumplings, as well as natural red mushrooms. Serving over 1,000 diners daily, it is an ideal rural leisure destination for tourists from both within and outside the province. The company directly employs over 200 local workers annually, contributes more than 400,000 yuan in taxes each year, and has been recognized as a provincial advanced model for building a new socialist countryside. It has also earned honors such as National Water Conservancy Scenic Area, China Youth Science Exploration and Adventure Base, Provincial Beautiful Eco-Village, and Provincial Agricultural Leisure Demonstration Site.

Since being rated as one of Fujian Province’s first batch of three-star rural tourism operators in July 2011, the company has been working toward the goals of “strict standards, unified pricing, independent operation, corporate supervision, self-responsibility for profits and losses, legal tax compliance, dynamic management, and quality assurance.” Following the four-star criteria outlined in the Fujian Rural Tourism Operator Service Quality Classification and Evaluation, the company has upgraded and improved the Xiyuan rural tourism facilities, steadily advancing toward standardized and unified development.
