The 2019 "Capital Cup" National Hiking Conference YanShou Station commenced on October 26 in Xiazhuang Village, YanShou Town, Changping District, Beijing. This hiking event was jointly organized by the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the People's Government of Changping District, Beijing, and Beijing Capital Group Co., Ltd., and hosted by the People's Government of YanShou Town, Changping District, Beijing, and Beijing Agricultural Investment Co., Ltd. It marked the first time the National Hiking Conference was held in Beijing. The event attracted nearly a thousand outdoor sports enthusiasts from 17 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Tianjin, Yunnan, and Zhejiang.

The YanShou Station route of the National Hiking Conference passed through numerous local natural landmarks such as the Xiazhuang GuanDi Temple, Haizi Ecological Sightseeing Park, Auto Camping Site, Beijing North’s First Waterfall, Shuiliandong Cave, and Yingshan Pagoda Forest. Historical sites include Tiebi Yingshan; transportation routes include the Daqin Railway and Ansi Highway; scenic areas feature the Dayangshan Natural Scenic Area; and local specialties include forest treasures, exotic fruits, and Yanshan chestnuts.

In order to thoroughly implement the directives of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government on increasing the income of low-income rural households and promoting the development of low-income villages, the Capital Group placed high importance on the "one enterprise, one village" paired assistance program, signing the "Beijing State-Owned Enterprises 'One Enterprise, One Village' Paired Assistance Agreement" with Xiazhuang Village. Based on in-depth exploration and research, and taking into account the environmental and resource characteristics of Xiazhuang Village, the Capital Group helped increase villagers' income through chestnut procurement and deep processing projects—offering a form of direct aid. At the same time, it also explored how to revitalize local distinctive resources and leverage the natural environmental advantages of Xiazhuang Village to pioneer new approaches to poverty alleviation. By using events to lead ecological development and provide targeted assistance, the goal is truly to teach self-sufficiency. The hosting of the 2019 "Capital Cup" National Hiking Conference YanShou Station was born out of this new approach to targeted assistance. Leveraging the geographical advantages of YanShou Town and using the outdoor activity theme of "Beautiful YanShou, Hiking for Health," the event created a premium business model integrating outdoor activities and tourism. It further promoted the cultural and tourism resources of Changping District and effectively established the YanShou Town of Changping District as a well-known brand for outdoor sports. The event planned a classic 10-kilometer hiking route, organizing and integrating leisure outdoor tourism resources, laying the foundation for exploring a model of "driving prosperity through events."

The successful hosting of this event represents another important assistance initiative following those centered on party building, employment security, and the forestry and fruit industry—namely, rural tourism industry support. Taking the National Hiking Conference as an opportunity, it accumulated experience in organizing rural outdoor + sports + tourism events for Xiazhuang Village and even YanShou Town, expanded the region’s influence, and laid a solid promotional foundation for future industrial development. It also actively engaged the villagers of Xiazhuang, especially those from low-income households, serving multiple purposes such as broadening their horizons, developing the outdoor industry, and providing an introductory boost to the tourism industry.
The hosting of the 2019 "Capital Cup" National Hiking Conference YanShou Station fully showcased the beautiful scenery of YanShou Town in Changping District, Beijing. Relying on its rich cultural and tourism resources, the area vigorously developed sports tourism. This not only effectively promoted local tourism resources but also greatly accelerated the development of mass fitness activities. At the same time, it played a significant role in helping local residents escape poverty and increase income, as well as achieving economic transformation and upgrading. The event also holds great significance in advocating for environmental protection and striving to create a new tourism model that integrates "sports + tourism + culture."
