The three-star rural tourism operation unit, Shuanglong Mountain Villa in Nanping City, is located in the Qiansanbaxiankan Scenic Area along the ancient Fujian–Jiangxi Trail. It lies 3.8 km north of Nanping city center and 4.6 km from the northern exit of the Fuyin Expressway, covering an area of 568 hectares with a forest coverage rate of 93.6%. The scenic area earned its name from the historical 3,800 steps that once led from the base to the top of the hill. It is one of the best-preserved ancient trails in China, historically known as the "national highway" of Nanping—the cradle of Fujian civilization—and is famed for the legend “Qiansanbaxiankan, every step yields gold.”

Since 2005, Nanping Kaxia Shengyuan Eco-Tourism Co., Ltd. has been actively developing rural tourism projects centered around Shuanglong Mountain Villa in Kaxia, tourism, leisure, entertainment, and natural oxygen bars. Highlighting the culture of the thousand-year-old ancient trail and integrating other attractions, the goal is to create a “back garden” of Nanping that combines leisure and wellness. Facilities such as a tourist reception center, natural swimming pool, Wangyue Pavilion, Yixin Pavilion, teahouse, leisure corridor, and wellness center have been built. These offer visitors the experience of “stepping into real mountains and rivers and returning to nature,” with tourism’s economic and social benefits becoming increasingly evident. In 2012, the site received 100,000 visitors, generating over 1.5 million yuan in tourism revenue and providing jobs for more than 30 people. It is an excellent destination for sightseeing, eco-tourism, summer retreats, leisure vacations, conference tourism, and educational exploration.

I. Traveling at Shuanglong Mountain Villa

Shuanglong Mountain Villa enjoys convenient transportation and a prominent location, with complete basic facilities. It connects to the Punan Expressway to the east and the Beijing–Fuzhou Expressway to the west. It is 9 km from Yanmen Wharf and Nanping Railway Station, and 170 km from Wuyishan Airport. Urban buses (Routes 1 and 2) and taxis from downtown Nanping can reach the villa.

II. Sightseeing at Shuanglong Mountain Villa

The adjacent Qiansanbaxiankan Scenic Area, close to Shuanglong Mountain Villa, is rich in cultural heritage and historic sites. Since ancient times, it has been said that “Qiansanbaxiankan, every step yields gold.” Legend has it that Huang Chao, leader of the peasant uprising during the Tang Dynasty, once camped here. Northern Song Dynasty general Yang Bamei, national hero Wen Tianxiang, and Zheng Chenggong fought battles here, leaving behind relics such as ancient fortresses and General Bridge, as well as beautiful legends. Republic of China President Cao Kun and the first governor of Fujian Province, General Sa Zhenbing, inspected the area and left behind precious cultural artifacts such as the “Yisheng Zai Dao” stele and the “Yiwen Xuanzhao” plaque.

The scenery of Qiansanbaxiankan is captivating, with winding paths, numerous ancient and famous trees, and abundant biodiversity. It is a renowned site for type specimens and an important germplasm resource bank, home to 4,267 species—more than triple the number found in Europe. The scenic area is also a natural oxygen bar, with an average negative ion concentration exceeding 30,000 per cubic centimeter. Highlights include the graceful Shuanglong Waterfall, the magical giant camphor tree, and the mysterious Dayekai Yeheshi Stone, which fascinates visitors with its daytime-opening and nighttime-closing phenomenon.

Currently, the villa offers over 20 distinctive rural tourism activities, including outdoor expansion programs, flower viewing, waterfall appreciation, barbecues, hiking, fruit picking, swinging, children’s water play areas, glutinous rice pounding, and snail collecting. The rich rural atmosphere allows visitors to enjoy an entirely different eco-tourism experience from urban life.

III. Accommodation at Shuanglong Mountain Villa

Shuanglong Mountain Villa covers an area of 15,000 square meters, with an operational area of 2,200 square meters. It has 12 guest rooms and 4 standalone Forest Homes, offering a total of over 50 beds and accommodating nearly 60 guests daily.

IV. Dining at Shuanglong Mountain Villa

Shuanglong Mountain Villa is well-known both within and outside the province for its distinctive farm-style cuisine. The menu features rustic flavors such as free-range chicken, duck, local vegetables, forest greens, farmhouse dishes, medicinal meals, as well as traditional handmade glutinous rice cakes.

The shopping area offers a variety of local natural foods and specialties for visitors to choose from, including red mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, honey, dried bamboo shoots, daylilies, Mangdang bayberry wine, and rice wine.

VI. Entertainment at Shuanglong Mountain Villa

The villa features an OK Club, multi-function conference hall, leisure wooden cabins, a natural swimming pool, and recreational facilities such as table tennis, badminton, basketball, and various board and card games.
