The Changshang Ancient Fortress Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Tawan Town Changshang Scenic Area is located in Changshang Village, situated at the southwestern edge of Yanping District, bordering Youxi and Sha County. Nestled in the high mountains, Changshang Village has an average elevation of 750 meters and an exceptionally high concentration of negative oxygen ions—over 10,000 per cubic meter—making it a natural summer retreat. The village boasts abundant tourism resources, including terraced fields that rival those of the Youxi Lianhe Terraces, clusters of ancient ginkgo trees, numerous earthen fortress architectural complexes, and the uniquely shaped Eighteen Pine Trees. The area is also the birthplace of the revolutionary movement in Nanping, Sha County, and Youxi. The first rural Party branch in Nanping was established here, offering rich red tourism resources. It holds great potential for developing a comprehensive leisure and resort destination integrating summer retreats, wellness, leisure vacations, and red tourism.
