In front of the earthen mound, there remain two trapezoidal stone tablet bases. A Ming Dynasty stele inscription titled “Eulogy at the Tomb of Master Luo Yuzhang” is now housed in the Special Shrine. The Special Shrine is primarily dedicated to Luo Congyan. It was first built during the Hongzhi era (1488–1505) of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the 34th year of the Qianlong reign (1769) of the Qing Dynasty. It also faces north and covers an area of 472.5 square meters. Along the central axis are, in sequence, the front wall, rain shelter, Imperial Calligraphy Pavilion, and main hall. The Imperial Calligraphy Pavilion has two stories, while the main hall is single-story, both featuring double-eave hip-and-gable roofs. Luo Congyan (1072–1135), courtesy name Zhongsu, also known as Yuzhang, was a renowned Neo-Confucian scholar. Together with Yang Shi, Li Tong, and Zhu Xi, he is known as one of the “Four Sages of Yanping” and was one of the founders of Min School culture, with numerous writings to his name.

Protective boundary: The tomb is centered on the central axis, extending 16 meters wide to both sides, reaching the road in front, and going 33 meters deep at the back; the Special Shrine is bounded by its surrounding wall, extending 16 meters wide to both sides and 33 meters long from front to back.

In 2018, the Tomb of Luo Congyan and the Special Shrine were designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
