Nanshan Town in Yanping District is located in the central-northern part of Fujian Province, between 118°16′ – 118°28′ east longitude and 26°34′ – 26°43′ north latitude.

It borders Yanghou Town to the east, Xiadao Town to the west, Chimen Township to the south, and is adjacent to Dahuang Town and Jian'ou City to the north. It is 30 kilometers away from downtown Nanping. The town covers an area of 197.38 square kilometers, with 24,100 mu of arable land, 26 administrative villages, 54 natural villages, and a population of 27,200.
