The Tomb of You Jujing is located at Shiping in Nanshan Town, Yanping District, and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

You Jujing

Styled Xingjian and also known as Kezhai, You Jujing was a native of Nanping. Born in the fourth year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1509), he entered the prefectural school at the age of 14. In the eleventh year of the Jiajing era (1532), he passed the imperial examination and was selected as a Shujishi (a probationary official) in the Hanlin Academy. He later rose to become an imperial censor and vice minister of the Ministry of Punishments for both the northern and southern capitals.

You Jujing was an upright and incorruptible official who enforced the law strictly and impartially. As an imperial censor, during his inspection tour of Lugou Bridge, he investigated merchants evading taxes and harshly criticized the negligence of the Minister of Revenue. While inspecting Yingtian Prefecture (modern-day Nanjing), he impeached pseudo-scholars, arrested corrupt officials, redressed wrongful convictions, and released prisoners who had been detained for long periods. Nanshan Town, Yanping District, is situated in the central-northern part of Fujian Province, between 118°16′–118°28′ east longitude and 26°34′–26°43′ north latitude. It borders Yanghou Town to the east, Xiadao Town to the west, Chimen Township to the south, and Dahuang Town and Jian’ou City to the north. It is 30 kilometers from downtown Nanping. The town covers an area of 197.38 square kilometers, with 24,100 mu of arable land, and administers 26 administrative villages, 54 natural villages, and a population of 27,200.
