Pingshan Academy is a cultural heritage site under the protection of Yanping District.

Pingshan Academy is located on Xinxing Street in Xiayang Town, Yanping District, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Pingshan Academy has been designated as a county-level cultural heritage site.

Xiayang Town: Xiayang Town is a famous historical and cultural town in Fujian Province, an important commercial hub, and also a key grain-producing area in Yanping District. It is situated northwest of Nanping City, Fujian Province, approximately 48 kilometers from downtown Nanping. To the east, it borders Mangdang Town; to the south, it adjoins Wangtai Town; to the west, it neighbors Shunchang County; and to the north, it is adjacent to Jian’ou. The town is embraced by Yuping Mountain and Zhaoke Mountain, with the Fuchun River flowing through its entire territory. Hence, it derives its name from the saying “two mountains and one river make a gorge, mountains to the south and water to the north make yang.” The area features a mid-subtropical monsoon climate, with no severe summer heat or winter cold.
