Changzhou Village, Xiaying Town

Changzhou Village in Xiaying Town, Jixian County, is the northernmost and highest deep mountain village beyond the Great Wall in Tianjin. It has a total of 90 households and 265 residents, with 154 acres of arable land and 12,000 acres of forest land, including 8,000 acres of timber forest and 4,000 acres of economic forest. Among these, there are 11,289 acres of arable land and 147,571 acres of forest land. The total area of Wuyuan reaches 54,338 acres, with 2.0937 million various mature and young fruit trees, producing 6.35 million kilograms of dried and fresh fruits, generating an output value of 10.96 million yuan. It has gradually established production bases for fruits and flowers such as 10,000 acres of Yanshan chestnuts, 1,000 acres of high-quality early-ripening pears, 1,000 acres of high-quality peaches, and 1,000 acres of roses.

On this basis, the town government has vigorously developed the breeding industry, establishing two service organizations (namely: the Broiler Breeding Service Center and the Swine Improvement Service Center) with 16 service personnel. It has successively signed broiler breeding contracts with two companies, Beijing CP Group and Beijing Huadu. The entire town is engaged in the breeding of more than ten types of livestock and poultry, including broilers, swine, Boer goats, free-range laying hens, and rare birds, with an annual output of 830,000 head (or individuals) of poultry and livestock, and over 1,500 people employed in the industry.
