Guojia Gou is located in the eastern part of Xiaying Town, nestled against mountains and beside water, where hills and lakes coexist in picturesque scenery. The area boasts sweet springs, delicious produce, and a simple, honest folk culture. The mountains are covered with lush pines and cypresses, while the foothills are adorned with fruit-laden trees — a beautiful mountain village with clear waters and green hills.

In addition to its unique ecological landscape and beautiful environment, Guojia Gou has also developed an eco-friendly green industry — the deep processing of ornamental gourds. Look at the display shelves in "Fortune in the Water Town," where each uniquely shaped gourd, intricately carved by skilled artisans, is truly a sight to behold, holding both ornamental and collectible value. Notably, the village is currently offering training sessions on gourd carving and pyrography. Take a look — several villagers are diligently learning how to craft these artful gourds. The instructor provides hands-on guidance, and the students are learning with great patience and care. Even this young child is stopping to watch and learn attentively.

Over the past two years, Guojia Gou has fully leveraged its inherent natural advantages to develop ecological agriculture and promote farmhouse accommodations. With a business mindset toward ecology and a developmental approach to sustainability, the village has been transformed into a tourism-oriented community that highlights rustic mountain charm, distinctive ecological features, and an optimal living environment.

In recent years, relying on its status as a model civilized and ecological village, the village has focused on infrastructure improvements and project development. Efforts have been made to enhance the village's appearance and further elevate the quality of tourism products and service standards, thereby increasing the appeal of the specialized tourism village. A total investment of 150,000 RMB was made to build 1,197 meters of new lanes, complete with installed streetlights. Another 25,000 RMB went into greening and beautifying the village, including planting flowers and seedlings. With an investment of 60,000 RMB, a 1,000-meter-long green corridor was established on both sides of the village entrance, complete with trellises for growing gourds, loofahs, green beans, and kiwifruit. This not only beautified the village but also created a scenic spot where fruit-picking activities can be offered during harvest season. An additional 50,000 RMB funded the development of a 100-acre picking garden on the eastern and western slopes of the village, featuring dates, high-quality peaches, and plums. Guojia Gou has changed — the village now enjoys an elegant environment and pleasant scenery, the villagers’ spirits are renewed, and a thriving, harmonious scene of a new socialist countryside unfolds. The outline of a tourism-oriented village with beautiful surroundings, orderly management, civility, and prosperity, characterized by the charm of a water town in the frontier region, is beginning to take shape.

Xiaying Town: A Millennium-Old Town with Historical Figures. Xiaying Town has a long history, established for about 1,500 years, originally named "Huangya Ying." To the south lies Qitou Mountain as a natural screen, to the southwest are the ancient sites of Qishan Lan Shui Cave, and to the north are the ruins of the Dragon King Temple, Zhenwu Temple, and Guandi Temple. Legend has it that Xiaying Town was first built during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods to defend against the Xiongnu. The imperial court constructed a stone city here with east, west, and south gates, guarded by stationed troops.
