Xiushan Island Mud Theme Park is situated at the scenic northwest end of Xiushan Island, surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes. The park’s three activity areas—large, medium, and small—are all centered on the theme of “mud,” featuring a wide range of fun, novel, unique, refreshing, exciting, and interesting tourism projects such as windsailing in mud, barrel mud sliding, mud sports competitions, modern mud slimming, mud climbing, mud bathing, mud therapy, and mud fishing. The design of the theme park harmoniously blends nature with art, providing a recreational venue that combines travel, leisure, wellness, scientific education, and culture.

Xiushan Island Mud Theme Park is currently China’s first mud-themed park, comprising a mud sports area and a mud therapy leisure and vacation zone. In addition to engaging activities such as tidal flat mud sliding, tidal flat shell collecting, and beachcombing, the park also provides professional instructors and a mud performance team. Using the specialized mud sliding tool called a “taku,” visitors can glide across Xiushan’s unique tidal flat mud and clearly feel the comforting coolness as the mud comes into direct contact with their skin.

Testing by an authoritative domestic institution—the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—has shown that the tidal flat mud in the park contains a variety of vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and trace elements that are beneficial to the human body, offering health benefits such as nourishment, skincare, and sterilization. This indicates that the project has broad development potential and market prospects, and is expected to attract more people who value nature, enjoy sports, and pursue health.
