Muzhao Beach Scenic Area

Muzhao Beach Scenic Area is located in the middle section of the Sanmen Bay coastline, in front of Muzhao Village, bordering Maotouyang to the east and 7 kilometers west of Jiantiao Port, 40 kilometers from the county town. The beach is crescent-shaped, stretching 300 meters in length and 146 meters in width, covering a total area of about 40,000 square meters. Backed by mountains and facing the sea, the eastern and southern parts of the beach feature vast waters. The beach surface is flat with an extremely gentle slope, composed of uniformly sized golden-yellow sand grains that are pure and free of impurities, formed by the deposition of marine shellfish washed ashore by ocean waves. The seawater is clean, usually appearing emerald green, but turning golden yellow when winds pick up or during high tides. The scenic area consists of Muzhao Beach, Muzhao Village, and natural caves, among other features, spanning a total area of approximately 3 square kilometers. It extends east to the waters around Wuzi Island, south to the southern shore of the beach, west to the mountain behind the beach, and north to the northern tip of Muzhao Mountain. The area is suitable for constructing a seawater bathing beach to support various marine sports activities. The mountain behind the beach reaches over 200 meters at its highest point, covered with well-preserved vegetation, mainly consisting of pine trees, along with maple trees, camphor trees, and other broad-leaved and deciduous mixed species. The northeastern part of the beach is Muzhao Mountain, which is shaped like a wooden scoop, features relatively flat terrain, and sits at an elevation of about 30 meters, covering a total area of about 5 square kilometers. Leisure and resort facilities have been built there.
