Xiamen and Kinmen to jointly launch fireworks on Lunar New Year's Day

To create a festive atmosphere for the Lunar New Year, Kinmen County Government on the 21st coordinated with the Xiamen Taiwanese Business Association and the Xiamen Taiwan Affairs Office to organizethe "Xiamen-Kinmen Lunar New Year Fireworks Display"on Lunar New Year’s Day (January 31) from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m., launching a total of 1,500 high-altitude fireworks simultaneously at the mouth of the Shanglin General Temple in Little Kinmen and across the sea in Huangcuo, Xiamen.

To ensure the success of the "Xiamen-Kinmen Lunar New Year Fireworks Display" event, Kinmen County Government began coordinating with various departments at the beginning of January to define their responsibilities. Lieyu Township Office was assigned to assist with related administrative tasks, plan restricted zones, support fireworks setup and construction, and maintain the environment; Kinmen County Fire Bureau was responsible for applying for professional fireworks displays, preparing on-site firefighting equipment, and handling emergencies; Kinmen County Police Bureau was tasked with planning restricted areas, managing traffic at the launch site, and controlling pedestrian and vehicle access; Kinmen County Health Bureau (Kinmen Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Welfare) provided one ambulance unit with driver and medical staff; Kinmen County Transportation Office arranged nighttime bus and ferry schedules on January 31, as well as shuttle services from Jiugong Pier to the event venue.

To facilitate public travel to Lieyu for the fireworks display, Kinmen County Government and the Transportation Office have specially planned dedicated buses and ferries for this event:

(2) January 31, 19:45, Fireworks Special Bus (from Jiugong Pier to Shanglin General Temple)
(3) January 31, 21:00, Fireworks Special Bus (from Shanglin General Temple to Jiugong Pier)
(4) January 31, 21:30, ferry (Jiugong Pier to Shuitou Pier)
(5) January 31, 21:45, Route 7 Bus (Shuitou Pier to Jincheng Station)
