Dr. King Memorial Day: African American Museum in Philadelphia Hosts Special Exhibition

January 20th is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Day in the United States, with commemorative events held in many places. The “African American Museum” in Philadelphia is hosting a special exhibition on Dr. King, while in Atlanta, hundreds of people gathered at “Ebenezer Baptist Church,” the site where Dr. King once preached, to pay tribute to his contributions.

The African American Museum used paintings, crafts, and diorama displays to statically present the spiritual legacy left by Dr. King. On that day, activities such as food donation drives, civil rights dance performances, face painting, academic essay competition awards, and scholar lectures were also held—giving young people the opportunity to deeply experience events related to Dr. King.

Meanwhile, Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. King once delivered speeches, also hosted prayers, hymns, music, speeches, and parades on this day. Hundreds of people gathered on-site to collectively express their remembrance of Dr. King.
