Go green and protect Little Kinmen (Lieyu)! Free trial electric cart tours now available

The Kinmen County Government will launch two electric cart tour routes in Lieyu Township, offering completely free rides during the trial period. The goal is to attract more visitors to Little Kinmen, boosting local tourism revenue. Following the success of the “Guningtou Electric Cart Tour,” the county government has introduced another electric cart route on Little Kinmen, divided into north and south lines connecting various attractions. These low-speed, low-carbon, and noise-free carts will provide an in-depth travel experience, offering visitors an alternative way to explore Little Kinmen.

The county government’s Tourism Department stated that the Guningtou Electric Cart Tour has been highly praised, with some international visitors even bringing friends and family specifically to try it. In response, the county government worked with Lieyu Township Office to conduct several site inspections and coordination meetings before finalizing the route proposed by the Lieyu Township Office.The routes are divided into north and south lines, with each tour lasting approximately 2.5 hours and operating primarily on a reservation basis.
The trial operation will run from May 16 to May 31, with no fees charged during this period. When the service officially launches, each tour will cost NT$100, and the county government will provide a NT$50 carbon voucher that can be used at low-carbon shops in Little Kinmen.

Tours will have morning sessions at 8:30 AM and afternoon sessions at 2:00 PM. Visitors will gather at Jiugong Pier, where guides will lead a walking tour of Jiugong Tunnel before proceeding to Luocuo Fishing Port to board the electric carts. The tour routes are as follows:

I. North Line Tour
Luocuo Fishing Port (boarding point) – 823 Artillery Battle Memorial Monument – (via Hupu Road, Hou tou Community, Linbian) – Warriors’ Fort & Iron Fort – Mock Minefield Park – (via cart tracks, Lotus Lake, Cat Rock) – L36 Outpost – Hujingtou Battle History Museum – (via Jiujing Road, Badalingzi) – Donglin Market – (via South Ring Road, Jiujing Road) – Jiugong Pier.

II. South Line Tour
Luocuo Fishing Port (boarding point) – (via Xishan Lake, Jiujing Road) – Cultural Museum – Western Community – Xiatianguoxing Well – (via Shuangkou Battle Village) – Shuangkou Estuary – (via South Ring Cart Track, West Lake) – Shanglin General Temple – (via LingShui Lake Birdwatching Area) – Lie’nü Temple – (via LingShui Lake) – Wu Xiucai’s Residence – (via Shanglin Elementary School) – Badalingzi – (via Donglin Market, South Ring Road, Jiujing Road) – Jiugong Pier.
