Be a special forces soldier once again！ Kinmen launches a reality combat camp and an ancient houses cultural tour

In response to the upcoming summer travel peak, Kinmen County Government has partnered with China Airlines, EasyTravel (易游网), and other tourism operators to jointly launch themed travel packages for Kinmen today (July 1). The packages include two major itineraries: the “Reality Combat Experience Camp” and the “New Life in Ancient Village Settlements,” combining local traditional culture with military heritage to showcase a unique side of Kinmen.

At the press conference, the first performance was a traditional ancient music piece played by the Xinxin Nanguan Music Troupe. While the audience was still immersed in the lingering melodies, Kinmen County Magistrate Li Woshi remarked that listening to Nanguan music in the midst of Kinmen’s century-old traditional village houses would offer a truly distinctive experience.

Li Woshi stated that Kinmen’s tourism has evolved from traditional military sightseeing into a new model that blends interactive and static experiences. In addition to enjoying ancient music among the historic village homes and delving into traditional local culture, visitors can also head to the newly opened Liuying Military Camp to engage in exciting military training activities. These include more than 20 high-altitude obstacle courses and ground training exercises, as well as simulated shooting with mock weapons that closely resemble real firearms. For those who enjoy shopping, duty-free stores offer plenty of opportunities for retail therapy.

Ho Han-yeh, Chairman of China Airlines, noted that the airline operates approximately 7 to 8 flights daily between Taipei, Taichung, and Kinmen. Coupled with the island’s more vibrant themes and developments, it is especially appealing to younger travelers.

Wang Yuecong, General Manager of EasyTravel’s Domestic Division, mentioned that this time the agency has launched four types of tour packages: group tours, enriched tours, semi-independent, and fully independent options, with durations ranging from 2 to 3 days. Among them, the Reality Combat Experience Camp itinerary allows participants to try activities such as laser mazes, paintball battles, and survival games within a military base. Travelers will also stay in barracks, enjoy field rations, and sleep in bunk beds, giving many the chance to relive their military service memories.
