The “2014 Golden Gate City God Festival & Wudao Religious & Cultural Tourism Season” will reach its climax on May 10 with the Wudao City God Parade. The Kinmen County Government will provide a live stream service so that friends from both home and abroad can also enjoy this grand event.

The Kinmen County Government is holding the month-long “2014 Golden Gate City God Festival & Wudao Religious & Cultural Tourism Season,” featuring four main event themes: “Golden Devotion,” “Golden Fun,” “Golden Highlights,” and “Golden Goodies.” These include various activities such as traditional Minnan folk experiences. On May 10 (the 12th day of the fourth lunar month), in addition to the Wudao City God Parade, the deities and performance troupes from the four temples of Houpu will also join the procession.

The county’s Tourism Department stated that this year, City God deities and performance troupes from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and other regions will also participate in this grand event. In addition to joining the parade for blessings, visitors can also enjoy traditional and fascinating performance troupes, including float processions, manually carried centipede seats, flower-beating rituals, Generals’ Procession, Old Couple Carrying, and Divine Generals. Moreover, audiences can watch various performance troupes from across the Strait competing to showcase their most exquisite street performances.

Additionally, the Kinmen County Government has commissioned a cable TV station to provide full live coverage on local Channel 33. It will also offer an “Online City God Parade” live stream service. Viewers from mainland China and overseas can access the official event website at 13:30 on May 10 to watch the entire event. Participants in the online live stream can also enter a lucky draw. Prizes include ten round-trip flight tickets between Taiwan and Kinmen sponsored exclusively by Uni Air, and ten Uni Air airplane models.
