Art exhibitions usually feature widely appreciated works, but not all artists’ creations get exhibited. Taipei Artist Village has organized the "Why Not?" exhibition, which specifically showcases works that have been repeatedly turned down. This exhibition runs from May 2 to 18, featuring six domestic and international artists.

The organizers explained that the curatorial concept behind "Why Not?" is to allow artists’ creativity and imagination to be fully expressed, enabling them to realize creative visions that have been deemed unpopular for various reasons. For example, local artist Liu Chih-Hung’s piece "Cang Cang" aims to convey preserving scenic landscapes through boxed memories, but it was repeatedly rejected by judges because it used pearl board as the material. Meanwhile, international artist Patricia Thoma creates animal sculptures, but they were turned down for being "too ugly."
