China Airlines' new Boeing 777 aircraft to debut in September  18TLarge screen plus WiFi service

Attention aviation enthusiasts! China Airlines announced today (30th) that its new fleet of Boeing B777-300ER aircraft is scheduled to be delivered this September. The new planes will be equipped with a next-generation in-flight entertainment system, featuring an 18Thigh-definition large screen. In addition to watching movies, listening to music, and playing games, the system now offers new features such as social chat, digital magazine browsing, real-time news access, duty-free shopping, and more. Passengers can also enjoy in-flight WiFi services.

Under China Airlines’ “NexGen Next Generation Plan,” the B777-300ER aircraft will feature the Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system with a multi-touch screen. This allows passengers accustomed to using smartphones to continue “swiping” on the screen during the flight, selecting from hundreds of movies or short films offered by China Airlines, or trying out more than 20 video games. The in-flight entertainment system has also upgraded the “My Favorites” function, enabling users to save their preferred programs and continue watching them after resting or dining by accessing the “Playlist.”

The in-flight entertainment system on the China Airlines B777-300ER also offers powerful social features. The “Seat Chat” function allows passengers traveling together to message each other, while the “Share” function lets them instantly recommend favorite music, movies, or games to friends and family onboard. Additionally, duty-free shopping, digital magazine browsing, staying updated on news, and learning about special in-flight meals are among the convenient services provided by the new entertainment system.

For passengers who wish to work, check emails, or browse social media on their personal phones, laptops, or tablets during the flight, the new China Airlines B777-300ER aircraft also offers WiFi services. Passengers flying at altitudes above 10,000 feet can connect their personal electronic devices to the wireless network and freely access services such as the China Airlines website, weather updates, and travel information for free. Alternatively, depending on the flight duration and usage needs, they can choose from 1-hour, 3-hour, or 24-hour packages for uninterrupted internet access, starting at around NT$300. To celebrate the launch of the WiFi service, China Airlines’ website will also offer promotional deals such as free trial access for ticket purchasers.
