Kinmen Offers Generous Gifts to Attract Mainland Night Ferry Tourists

Kinmen’s proximity to Xiamen—just 10 kilometers away—coupled with its distinctive military culture, has made it a popular destination. According to data from the Kinmen County Government, last year saw a record-breaking 1.47 million visitors arriving via the Mini Three Links. To coincide with the trial launch of the “Kinmen-Xiamen Mini Three Links Night Ferry Service” on June 17, 2012, which will offer two-way night sailings between Kinmen and Xiamen, the Kinmen County Government is running a special “Gifts for Mainland Tourists on Kinmen-Xiamen Night Ferries” promotion from June 17 to 26. The package includes a free one-day tourist shuttle bus pass, travel brochures, and promotional discount coupons to attract more mainland tourists to visit Kinmen.

Following Kaohsiung’s three-in-one gift package for Hong Kong and Macau tourists, the Kinmen County Government is offering promotions to mainland tourists during the night ferry campaign. Any mainland travelers arriving in Kinmen via the night ferry (departing at 7:00 PM) from the Dongdu Wharf in China through the Mini Three Links can collect attraction brochures, a one-day tourist shuttle bus pass, and promotional discount coupons at the Kinmen Shuitou Wharf Visitor Service Center upon arrival. The one-day tourist shuttle bus pass is limited to independent travelers.

During the event period, special discounts on Kinmen’s famous local specialties are also available. Tourists can enjoy benefits such as gifts when spending a certain amount using the promotional discount coupons at designated stores. Participating stores include Kinpo Blades, Liangjin Beef Jerky, Master Hong’s Golden Cuisine Beef Jerky, Dr. Wang One Root, Wujee One Root, Chunxin Specialty Store, Chen Jinfu’s Royal Candy, Shengzu Food, Kinmen Dafang (Hu Xibo Noodles), and Shanggucuo Noodle Shop - Yuyi Branch. The one-day tourist shuttle bus pass and promotional discount coupons are valid from June 17 to July 1.
