The bicycle tourism trend is spreading across Taiwan, with outlying islands also launching eco-friendly cycling activities. Organized by the Kinmen County Government, the “2012 Kinmen County Earth Environment Season Environmental Education – Green Cycling Trail” has been underway since April 22, divided into three sessions, each accommodating 150 participants. The cycling routes cover attractions such as Kinmen National Park, Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc., Juguang Tower, and the migratory bird-watching site Tianpu. Registration for the first session is now open, allowing the public to join a cultural and ecological cycling tour of Kinmen.

The three sessions of this event are scheduled for April 22, May 12, and June 9, with 150 participants per session. Each session runs from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The starting point of the first session is the Kinmen County Environmental Protection Bureau, with the route passing through the ancient settlement of Yangjhi, the Historical Relics Museum, and Kinmen National Park. The second and third sessions both begin at Kinmen National Park, taking cyclists through Han Ying Yun Gen Stele at Guogang Lake, the Wen Tai Bao Ta Pagoda built during the Ming Dynasty, the historic streets known as “the No.1 Street in Taiwan and Fujian,” and Tianpu, where visitors can observe the summer migratory bird species, the collared finchbill.

Registration for the first session is now open, while registration for the second and third sessions will begin at 9:00 AM on April 25 and June 2, respectively, and will remain open until all spots are filled. The entire event is free of charge and includes guides accompanying participants throughout. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles and helmets.
