This summer, cool off a bit and go explore the battlefield mysteries—take a vacation to Kinmen and just unwind.

Located by the small river next to the bustling area of Shanwai in Kinmen, there’s a row of buildings with a foreign charm reminiscent of Copenhagen, Denmark. Thanks to a building facade improvement project planned by the Jinhu Township Office, each residence was painted in a single color and adorned with murals, transforming the once plain south side of the Shanwai stream into a surprisingly popular scenic spot.

Located along the rocky coast in the southwest of Jinhu Township, Xinhu Fishing Port is one of Kinmen’s three largest fishing ports. Here you’ll find vast sandy beaches, a bunker observation deck, Mazu Park, and the most popular wave-dissipating block scenery among travelers.

The Chen Qingji Western-style House is located in Bishan, Jinsha Township. Built in 1930, this area had relatively few visitors but was once quite bustling, leading to the construction of several Western-style houses, among which the Chen Qingji Western-style House stands out as the most magnificent. It was built by Chen Qingji, who went to Singapore to engage in business. The structure is grand in scale and strong in line—this house was also a filming location for the movie "Paradise in Service."

The Chen Jinglan Western-style House was built in 1917 with funding from Mr. Chen Jinglan, who achieved success in business in Singapore. After its completion, part of the building was used as Shangqing Primary School and later served as a rest center for Kinmen soldiers. It suffered damage from bombings and typhoons, with collapsed floors and half-fallen walls, turning it into a dangerous ruin. Later, through renovation efforts, it became a memorial hall.
