Bidding farewell to the Heisei era and welcoming Reiwa, the most iconic matcha collaboration of Reiwa will be brought to life by Dazzling in partnership with 搦利茶蓬, pushing the boundaries of matcha desserts. The star dessert of the collection, the “Uji Matcha Gold Brick,” draws inspiration from a Rubik’s Cube. It features a crispy white chocolate shell encasing an ice cream mousse center, delivering a rich matcha aroma that fills the mouth. A creative matcha specialty drink blends Japanese shiso leaves with matcha tea to create a matcha-shiso sparkling drink reminiscent of plum soda — fresh, tangy, and perfect for relieving the stickiness and thirst of early summer.

This collaboration offers a total of five items including desserts, drinks, and light meals. The entire series will be available for a limited time starting June 1 at all Dazzling Cafe locations across Taiwan, ready to sweep matcha fans off their feet once again.

The “Uji Matcha Gold Brick” takes inspiration from a Rubik’s Cube, featuring a crispy white chocolate shell encasing an ice cream mousse center, delivering a rich matcha aroma that fills the mouth.

The concept for the collaboration’s new “Uji Matcha Gold Brick” is inspired by the classic Rubik’s Cube dessert by Cedric Grolet, France’s best pastry chef. The chef reimagined the cake as a honey toast brick paired with an ice cream mousse center. The filling uses a homemade custard chantilly base infused with rich matcha ganache. Once frozen, it is coated with 33% white chocolate and a vibrant green mirror glaze, topped with gold leaf for an added touch of elegance. The first bite reveals the crisp white chocolate and shiny glaze, heralding a delightful new flavor experience. As your tongue touches the creamy custard mousse, the fragrance bursts forth, followed by the rich, full-bodied aroma of matcha ganache. This novel taste is as astonishing as watching a magic show.

The “Matcha White Bean Honey Toast” features golden toast spread with rich matcha custard, topped with translucent, tender lemon jelly. Garnishes include soft red bean paste and chewy mochi pearls. Before eating, drizzle with the chef’s specially crafted thick-style matcha sauce, allowing every bite to combine the crispy yet soft toast with intense matcha flavors. The refreshing, tangy lemon jelly perfectly balances the matcha and fillings, presenting the classic honey toast taste through the simplest preparation method.

Drizzle with the rich matcha sauce before eating to enjoy the delightful combination of fragrant tea and crispy toast in every bite.

Developed over six months, two drinks uniquely blend local Taiwanese ingredients with Japanese matcha flavors. The “Matcha Shiso Sparkling Drink” is inspired by traditional plum green tea, using shiso plums from Nantou’s Xinyi Township paired with 搦利’s matcha tea. It begins with a refreshing plum-flavored sparkling drink, followed by a smooth, warming tea aftertaste that lingers in the throat and fills the mouth with aroma. For different consumer preferences, extra tea base is provided so matcha enthusiasts can adjust the intensity of the matcha to their liking.
