Niutoumen Scenic Area

Niutoumen Scenic Area is located along the southeastern coast of the county town, about 50 kilometers from the county seat, within the jurisdiction of Yanchi Township. Covering an area of 3.5 square kilometers, it stretches from Maotouyang in the east to Niutoumen Port in the south, from Sanmen Salt Field in the west to Yanjiang Village in the north. The area features attractions such as islets and reefs, salt production sites, beaches, and the landing site of Choi Bu.

Niutou Mountain resembles a giant dragon emerging from the sea, hence its name "Dragon Mouth Head." At the seaward end of the Dragon Mouth Head are shore-connected reefs, which have been eroded over the years by ocean waves to form unique caves and peculiar rocks. Notable sights here include Dragon Cave, Swan Playing in Water, Sword Drawn from Its Sheath, Squirrel Lying on the Ground, Gold Ingots Stacked, and Aircraft Carrier Moored at Shore. Nearby lies a bay with natural sandy beaches. Niutoumen is also the historic landing site recorded in Choi Bu’s "Drifting Across the Sea," symbolizing the friendship between China and Korea. The scenic area also includes the Sanmen Salt Field, where visitors can experience the culture of salt production. It is a distinctive tourist attraction offering marine, island reef, and cultural landscapes.
