Huaxia Art Expo Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Situated in Xuejia Town, Xinbei District, Changzhou—a historic and renowned city in the Jiangnan region—Huaxia Art Expo Park covers around 50,000 square meters, featuring four craft art exhibition and sales buildings, a Masters’ Village made up of ten villas, a central square, a central park, and the Changzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall. The craft art exhibition and sales buildings are fully operational, attracting over 40 types of craft art disciplines such as random stitch embroidery, bamboo carving with retained green, and comb-making, creating an exhibition and sales area of more than 10,000 square meters. In line with the overall goals of “industrial agglomeration, creative R&D, intangible cultural heritage preservation, talent cultivation, and cultural tourism,” the park is committed to becoming a first-class cultural industry hub. It strives to establish itself as a well-known cultural industry park in the Yangtze River Delta region, making new and greater contributions to building a culturally rich Changzhou and enhancing the city’s cultural soft power.

On June 18, 2008, Huaxia Art Expo Park officially opened. The park has been awarded the titles of “Jiangsu Craft Art Industry Park” by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and “Jiangsu Traditional Craft Art Characteristic Industry Base” by the Jiangsu Provincial Economic and Trade Commission. It is also recognized as the “Changzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Base,” the “Changzhou Patriotic Education Base,” and a national AA-level tourist attraction. The park has hosted over 200 visiting and tourist groups, receiving tens of thousands of visitors. Huaxia Art Expo Park continues to make new and greater contributions to building a culturally rich Changzhou and enhancing the city’s cultural soft power.

The enterprises in Huaxia Art Expo Park are all creative businesses. Its distinctive feature lies in the integration of craftsmanship and industry. The displayed finished products are artworks, while the production processes can also be shown to the public, which is equally a delightful experience. The newly established Changzhou Beihong Culture and Art Co., Ltd. has “taken over” the 1,800-square-meter third floor of Building No. 1 of the craft art complex. Here, it showcases pyrography works by artist Wang Heming, paintings by artists from the Yixing Xu Beihong Painting Academy, the Changzhou Painting Academy, and the Changzhou Longcheng Calligraphy and Painting Academy. The most notable pieces are the flower-and-bird paintings by Zhang Dalin, a contemporary Chinese master of freehand flower-and-bird painting and a guest professor for flower-and-bird painting lectures on China Education Television, as well as over 1,000 oil paintings by artist Liu Weiguang, making it a sizable gallery. Yet, all these works are also for sale. The studios prepared for the artists around the exhibition area also turn this place into a base for original art.

Huaxia Art Expo Park serves as a training base for craft art talents. The first to settle here was the Changzhou Craft Art Research Institute, which is currently providing free training to a group of local “embroidery women.” According to Director Yang Chun, the biggest issue in the craft art industry is its small scale, operating as a shop in front and workshop at the back, resulting in limited influence. While Suzhou boasts 100,000 embroidery women, only a few hundred in Changzhou are engaged in random stitch embroidery. To achieve industrialization, enterprises must vigorously cultivate talent in this field. What is currently on display represents only the first phase of the Art Expo Park. In the future, the second phase will include the construction of Jiangnan-style architectural complexes, forming a distinctive commercial district with local snacks, bars, teahouses, and leisure entertainment as its main business types. The third phase, covering 343 acres, will feature the creation of the Phoenix Lake Scenic Tourism Area.

Xuejia Town: Located in the Changzhou High-Tech Development Zone, Xuejia Town has a total population of 60,300, including 15,000 migrants, covering an administrative area of 37.56 square kilometers with a town area of 4.2 square kilometers. It governs 10 communities and 3 administrative villages.
