Zhao Dong Ecological Expo Park

A plant ecological expo park featuring scenic woodlands and leisure entertainment has taken shape after three years of construction in our city. It is now open to the public free of charge during the season when trees sprout fresh green leaves and flowers are in full bloom.

The ecological garden is situated on the west side of North 17th Street in our city, covering a total area of 100 hectares, with a forested area of 95 hectares. It has planted 240,000 trees across 40 varieties in 10 major categories, including poplar, willow, elm, locust, flowering fruit, and pine. The park is divided into three sections: a protective zone, a sightseeing zone, and a multifunctional zone. Its layout—consisting of one horizontal, two vertical, three circular paths, and four roads—ensures connectivity between different areas while each maintains its own unique scenery.

The ecological garden was initiated in 2004 under the strategic vision of the municipal Party committee and government to enhance the city’s image, accelerate urban infrastructure development, and promote synchronized economic and social progress. Its purpose is to create a green barrier for the urban area, increase the city's green space, improve air quality, serve as the city’s “green lung,” and provide residents with a high-quality leisure and tourism destination. With its fresh air and tranquil environment, it has become a beloved spot for locals. As the poem goes:

Willow stands proud, willows droop in silk, the ecological park refreshes mind and soul.

Green hues layered in soft display, flowers vie in beauty’s array.

Deep in shade, birds and insects sing, before golden tiles monks meditate and chant.

Creation assigns each realm its place, harmony rejoices ‘neath the sky’s embrace.
