Next Monday is the Lantern Festival, and Taitung’s uniquely spectacular Bombing of Lord Handan event will officially kick off. This year, there will be 10 bomb-blasting performances of Lord Handan, with the first one taking place at 12:30 p.m. on February 6 at New Shu Fashion Hotel in Taitung City, while the annual Lantern Festival divine procession and blessing event will be held in downtown Taitung on February 6 and 7, bringing festive excitement to the public.

In addition to the first performance, the other Bombing of Lord Handan events will take place at 3:30 p.m. on February 6 at Sankaku Park on Xinsheng Road, 4:30 p.m. at Sifang Goose Meat on Zhengqi Road, 7:30 p.m. at Nanjing Road Square in Taitung City (in front of the Cultural Affairs Bureau), and 9:00 p.m. at Yazi Fang Leisure Hair & Beauty Salon on Gengsheng Road. On February 7, there will also be a Lord Handan experience camp and a “casting cups to invite the God of Wealth” activity at the 2:00 p.m. session at Nanjing Road Square. Other events that day include a 5:00 p.m. session at Tianhou Temple Square in Taitung City (No. 222, Section 1, Zhonghua Road), a 6:30 p.m. session at Zhiben Railway Station, and an 8:00 p.m. session at No. 2 Zhengqi Road in Taitung City. Meanwhile, starting at 8:00 p.m. on February 8, the National Folklore Performance Arts Gathering at Nanjing Road Square will feature performances by groups such as the Oriental Art Troupe, Jiutian Folklore Performance Troupe, and Yizhenxuan Electronic Music San Taizi, joining together for a lively celebration.
