Taitung Forest Park, formerly known as the "Black Forest," is located at the mouth of the Beinan River. The entire area was planted with casuarina trees for windbreaks, giving the forest a dark appearance when viewed from afar—hence its name. The park also features cycling paths where visitors can ride through the casuarina forest and connect to three lakes: Pipa Lake, Huoshui Lake, and Egret Lake. The gentle paths are comfortable to ride, making it ideal for family outings to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.

Taitung Railway Art Village is also the starting point of the Mountain-Sea Cycling Trail. The old warehouses and waiting rooms have been transformed into a Taitung bus transfer station and tourist service center, integrating the region’s art and performance events, railway culture, and tourism information. It’s a highly commemorative attraction and a great spot for locals and travelers to relax and take a stroll.
