The Ancient Architectural Complex of Dagu Mountain is a cultural tourism attraction.
Dagu Mountain rises steeply and abruptly, with stone paths winding up its slopes. Towering oak and ginkgo trees line the paths, casting cool shade. The mountain is home to over a hundred temples initially built during the Tang Dynasty, making it one of the province’s most well-preserved ancient architectural complexes. It consists of the Tianhou Palace, more than ten temples and halls, a theater stage, a stone Buddhist pagoda, and the Sea-Viewing Pavilion. From the Sea-Viewing Pavilion, one can gaze southward to take in the blue waves of the Yellow Sea and the scenic beauty of Deer Island.
The Dagu Mountain Provincial Scenic Area is located 100 kilometers southwest of Dandong, bordered by the Dayang River to the east and the Yellow Sea to the south. It stands steeply and abruptly, isolated on the seashore, covering a total area of 42 square kilometers. The area consists of three scenic zones: the Ancient Architectural Complex of Dagu Mountain, Xiaodao Islet, and Deer Island.
