Mugumugu Scenic Area, one of Hualien’s top 10 hidden gems, used to attract around 190,000 visitors annually. However, after a typhoon caused a landslide on the main road leading to the area, it has been closed ever since. Recently, the Tongmen Tribe in Sioulin Township and the Hualien County Government announced, after multiple rounds of coordination, that although the landslide section of the road to the Mugumugu Eco-Corridor has reopened, there are still safety concerns, and the public is advised to carefully consider the necessity of entry. Those applying for entry into Mugumugu for hiking purposes must do so on foot; other vehicles not granted permission are not allowed to enter or exit.

The Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival is a cherished childhood memory for many locals. Now entering its 20th year, this year’s edition takes "Flying" as its theme and, for the third time, invites internationally acclaimed designer Aaron Nieh (Xiao Qingyang) to design the festival’s visual identity. Lin Chiu-fang, Director of Yilan County Cultural Affairs Bureau, explained that just as a young child grows into adulthood, the theme has evolved from "Turning" in the 18th edition, to "Jumping" last year, and now "Flying" this year. Aaron Nieh created a smiling face using keyboard symbols to represent the number 20, symbolizing the festival’s 20th birthday.
