Dashin New Thai Noodles Celebrates One-Year Anniversary; Total Bowls Sold Could Stack 100 Taipei 101 Buildings

The Thai cuisine restaurant group—Wang Restaurant Group—launched its brand-new fourth brand, “Dashin New Thai Noodles,” in 2014. As of May 2015, it has just celebrated its first anniversary, with a total of approximately 500,000 bowls of noodles sold. This equates to a stack that could reach the height of 100 Taipei 101 buildings. Meanwhile, the exclusive specially-made Black Volcano Ice Cream has sold enough units to reach nearly 25 times the height of Mount Yu.

“Dashin New Thai Noodles” marks Wang Restaurant Group’s entry into the individual à la carte affordable dining market. With the unique concept of “one bowl, one meal, made to order,” it has carved out a niche in the highly competitive noodle market. Over the past year, the total number of bowls sold could be stacked to form 100 Taipei 101 buildings, with the highest single-day table turnover rate reaching 15 times. As for the uniquely created Black Volcano Ice Cream in a black sesame flavor, thanks to the distinctive taste combining black sesame with rich coconut milk, over 520,000 servings were sold within a year—equivalent to the height of 25 Mount Yus.

Following the opening of six branches in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, and seeing the potential customer draw of department stores, “Dashin New Thai Noodles” aims to open another six branches across Taiwan in the second half of this year. The new locations are expected to debut as early as Tienmu in Taipei and Zuoying in Kaohsiung.
