The preparations for Tigerair Taiwan are in their final stages. At a press conference held today (1st), Guan Xu, CEO of Tigerair Taiwan, stated that the airline’s first brand-new A320 aircraft successfully flew from Airbus in Toulouse, France, and arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 6:00 AM Taipei time on August 31. The airline is scheduled to commence operations on September 26, and starting tomorrow (2nd), it will release 10,000 tickets for the Taipei-Singapore route at NT$888 each for online booking.
Repairing 300 meters of railway track — Yilan’s “Taipingshan Forest Railway” to resume service in 2017
The Yilan Taipingshan Forest Railway, which has been out of service for 35 years, is now set to make a comeback by the Luodong Forest District Office. Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the logging history of Taipingshan in Yilan this year (2014), the Forestry Bureau has decided to restore a 300-meter-long section of railway within the Luodong Forestry Culture Park after collecting extensive historical and cultural materials.
