"The Love Boat" Cast Reunites to Kick Off Princess Cruises' 50th Anniversary Celebrations

In 1977, the first episode of "The Love Boat" was filmed aboard the original Sun Princess, which could carry 730 passengers, marking the beginning of the special relationship and delightful journey between Princess Cruises and the beloved TV series. The classic show has been on air for nearly 40 years, introducing global audiences to the unique experience of modern cruise travel.
To highlight the significant role "The Love Boat" played in the evolution of cruising, Princess Cruises specially invited the original cast to serve as godparents for the new Regal Princess. Six main cast members who played Captain Stubing, Gopher, Doc, Julie, and Vicki will reunite on November 5 in Florida, USA, to preside over the naming ceremony of the Regal Princess, officially kicking off Princess Cruises' 50th anniversary celebration series in 2015.
