Pingtung is set to unveil a “bridge that tells stories”! Following Typhoon Morakot, the Sandimen Suspension Bridge was in urgent need of repair. After evaluation and inspection at the end of 2012, the Pingtung County Government decided to rebuild the bridge, which will connect Sandi Village in Sandimen Township with Beiyeh Village in Majia Township. The new structure will feature glass-inspired designs, light art installations, and 24 storyboards along the surrounding approach roads as part of its artistic elements.

Lake Kaming, known as the “Angel’s Tear,” was recently reported to have been illegally occupied by unauthorized individuals who set up a long row of tents, damaging the scenic landscape. The Taitung Forest District Office and Xiangyang Police Station have been up the mountain in recent days to crack down forcefully, ordering the tents to be dismantled and taken down the mountain. This is Yonaguni Village in northern Okinawa Prefecture, where "Gallivant Bakery" is located in this agriculture-rich small village. "Gallivant" means "a journey for pleasure." This waterfall is quite unique—it’s divided into three parts. Located in the forest outside Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, this waterfall was originally part of a limestone cave, formed from ancient Jurassic-era limestone. Around several thousand years ago, melting snow from the mountains gradually eroded the limestone cave, creating three separate holes.

The Taoyuan Cultural Affairs Bureau has kicked off a three-day warm-up event from August 25 to 27. Given that the Dayuan Air Force Base was once home to the Black Cat Squadron, the Taoyuan County Government invited art students from Yangming High School, Zhenxing High School, and Quanqiao High School to create Black Cat Squadron murals in the lobby of the Cultural Affairs Bureau. It’s been a while since I wrote about the snacks in Yuanli. Today, I’d like to introduce a shop I personally love. I really enjoy the stir-fried rice and rice pudding (braised rice) from Yuan Yuan Yuan. I’m especially fond of the chili sauce cooked by their chef. I usually keep a jar at home for whenever I want a bite. It has a spicy yet savory taste, with a strong kick that’s not overly salty. Of course, the stir-fried rice here is perfectly cooked with distinct, evenly flavored grains and a rich aroma, while the portion of rice pudding is very generous and extremely satisfying. Other dishes like dry noodles, dumplings, and beef noodle soup are also well-received, but I personally only love the stir-fried rice and rice pudding!
