Flights to Christchurch from December 1 — China Airlines Hosts Inaugural Celebration
To meet the peak travel demand and cargo market needs in the Southern Hemisphere, China Airlines is expanding its presence in the New Zealand and Australia market. It will launch flights to Christchurch, New Zealand, on December 1. Today (the 10th), China Airlines and Christchurch Airport jointly hosted an inaugural celebration event. Going forward, the airline will operate a seasonal scheduled service with three flights per week, providing passengers with a convenient route from Taoyuan via Sydney, Australia, to Christchurch.
New flower-viewing spot in Kaohsiung: Shuanghu Forest Park unveils a 20-hectare romantic terraced flower sea
Kaohsiung has a new flower-viewing attraction to explore. The Directorate General of Highways (DGH) announced on the 5th that the 2018 Lunar New Year Flower Sea project is about to kick off. Shuanghu Forest Park, which was transformed after the relocation of graves from Fudingjin, will feature vibrant flowers planted in blocks or strips. Before the second and third phases of construction begin, cosmos seeds will be sown soon. The cosmos are expected to bloom in January 2018, creating a romantic terraced flower sea spanning over 20 hectares.

Vanilla Air launches Kaohsiung–Tokyo route; tickets on sale from September 11 starting at NT$1,950
Japan’s Vanilla Air has announced that it will launch flights between Kaohsiung and Tokyo (Narita) starting February 1, 2015. The Kaohsiung route is the airline’s second destination in Taiwan following Taipei (Taoyuan), and marks the first time Vanilla Air has established two routes within the same country.

As the new semester is about to begin, Soochow University has recently unveiled a unique sight: behind the Zheshe Building on the main campus, a decommissioned old school bus is parked, its interior redesigned as a café-style seating area. A coffee menu is displayed at the entrance. This 40-year-old bus, which was originally scheduled to be scrapped this year, has now been repurposed into the “Old School Bus Café” after retirement. Though it can no longer hit the road, it continues to accompany the students.

China Eastern Airlines unveils new logo after 26 years — a red-and-blue swallow in flight
China Eastern Airlines (CEA) released its new VIS (Visual Identity System) on the 9th. The new logo retains the core element of the original — the "swallow" — but changes the original white swallow to one composed of red and blue, ingeniously integrating the initials CE (China Eastern) with the swallow. Here it comes, here it comes！The much-anticipated light rail trains for southern Taiwan finally arrived at Berth 8A of Taichung Port at 7 a.m. on the 11th！The Taichung Port Branch stated that the reason for unloading in Taichung Port is that Kaohsiung Port does not have a vehicle terminal, while Taichung Port has car ferries and berthing docks, hence the choice to unload here. This is also the first time in Taiwan that rail passenger vehicles—light rail trains—have been transported in this way. The light rail trains are also scheduled to be transported to Kaohsiung on the 13th.
