Halloween is near！Hong Kong Ocean Park’s “All-Day Festival” brings eyeballs to the table

Halloween is approaching, and Hong Kong Ocean Park’s annual highlight, the “Halloween Bash All-Day Festival,” is set to sweep through the city once again. Ghostly-themed delicacies will be available at various restaurants and bakeries in the park, all designed to enhance your Halloween Bash experience. From September 14 to October 31 on designated Halloween Bash days, Ocean Park will serve a variety of creative dishes inspired by traditional Chinese folk ghost stories and Western horror legends.

During the Ocean Park “Halloween Bash All-Day Festival,” the Ocean Café will transform into the “Haunt Hall” to welcome visitors. The door gods on either side of the entrance glare at every guest, hinting at the hidden mysteries within the restaurant—including eerie lanterns hanging from the ceiling, ouija board placemats, scattered offerings and joss paper throughout the space, and monks and evil spirits sitting cross-legged in dark corners. Waitstaff dressed as paper effigies are also on standby, ready to serve terrifying yet delicious special combo meals.

The spine-chilling “Legendary Tales” themed combo will await all “guests” at the “Haunt Hall”: the combo starts with “Coffin Capital,” where a cucumber carved into the shape of a coffin holds the salad. The second dish is “Meng Po’s Soup,” where the waiter dramatically pours onion soup from a traditional herbal pot into a Chinese soup bowl, submerging a voodoo doll-shaped Indian flatbread. For the main course, diners can choose between “Layered Ghost Sigils” or “Quick Fish Decree.” Finally, the waiter will serve dessert: “Incense and Candle Sweets.”

The popular Polar Restaurant presents a quirky “Trick or Treat” combo with a fun pumpkin theme inspired by Western Halloween traditions. The starter “Pumpkin Ghost” features fresh salad served in a mini pumpkin lamp. “Pumpkin Meets Caterpillar” is decorated with a spiderweb on the soup surface, accented by caterpillar-like morel mushrooms. Main courses include “Red Skull,” served with multigrain toast and Provence-style slow-cooked vegetables drizzled with red wine sauce. Another option, “White Skull,” features a cartoonish white skull bread paired with snowy white cod. For dessert, “Three-Eyed Don’t Run” resembles eyeballs floating in a pool of blood, delivering both a startling and refreshing visual treat.

Hong Kong Ocean Park’s popular bakery “Harbour City Bakery” has also joined the spooky fun, debuting a uniquely eerie new “Prayer Incense” dessert, crafted in the shape of an edible Chinese incense burner. Priced at HK$380, this item requires a two-day advance reservation. During the Halloween Bash All-Day Festival, both the Polar Restaurant and Ocean Café will also offer a Halloween-exclusive drink called “Chilling Blood Spring” for just HK$58, helping slightly spooked visitors calm their nerves.
