Badi Palace is located in Marrakech. Once a magnificent palace, it ultimately failed to withstand the test of time, leaving behind only fragments of its former grandeur. Built in 1578, the construction of Badi Palace took 25 years and included 360 rooms, a large courtyard measuring 135 meters in length and 110 meters in width, and a fountain pool that was 90 meters long and 20 meters wide. Additionally, there was an underground prison with four cells used to detain prisoners at the time.

The Badi Palace was adorned with Italian marble and gold imported from the Sultanate, making it truly resplendent. However, what visitors see today are massive earthen palace walls, deep palace ruins, and the remnants of a vast fountain pool. Yet these also showcase the architectural ingenuity of people hundreds of years ago—earthen walls that have stood for centuries, and intricately designed yet enchantingly beautiful fountain pools. It is truly awe-inspiring. The best time to visit Badi Palace is at sunset, when gazing upon the ruins of this once-glorious structure allows you to imagine its splendid history and evokes a deep sense of nostalgia.
