As autumn arrives, the first wave of cooler temperatures is hitting Taiwan tonight. One of the UK’s best-selling newspapers, The Telegraph, has listed this year’s top 15 best travel destinations, featuring not only off-season getaways in the Southern Hemisphere but also cultural heritage sites perfect for immersive travel, offering global travel insights from east to west.
1. Malta – A tiny island nation located just below Italy in Southern Europe, known as the “Heart of the Mediterranean” and hailed as the “Countryside of Europe.” One of the most popular childhood cartoons, the movie version of “Popeye the Sailor,” was filmed here. Average temperatures range between 19-24°C.

2. Tenerife – An Atlantic Ocean island belonging to Spain, close to the African coast, and the largest of the seven Canary Islands. Formed by volcanic activity, its dramatic lava rock landscapes are a major draw, attracting over 5 million visitors annually. Peak temperatures are around 21°C.

3. Los Angeles – The second-largest city in the United States, it is not only one of the world’s hubs for culture, science, and higher education but also home to globally renowned institutions in entertainment and the arts. Among them, Los Angeles National Park is one of California’s best spots for exploring natural ecosystems. Peak temperatures are around 22°C.

4. Marrakech – Located in southwestern Morocco on the edge of the desert, it is known as the “Pearl of the South.” Famous for its leather industry, Marrakech also hosts the busiest square in all of Africa. With a strong influence of ancient Islamic culture, it's ideal for an in-depth cultural journey. Maximum temperatures are around 22°C.

5. South Australia – A winter escape in the Southern Hemisphere, situated in the central-southern part of Australia. Aside from its dry, pleasant summers, over 50% of its land dedicated to pastures, as well as national parks and wildlife reserves, it also includes Adelaide, the state capital. Peak temperatures are around 22°C.
