A global comparison of hotel room prices in 37 cities: Argentina is the cheapest, Taipei ranks mid-to-lower

How much do you think accommodation should cost for a one-night stay at a 4-star or higher hotel, including breakfast? The world’s largest travel website, TripAdvisor, used this as a theme to compare hotel prices across 37 global cities andrecently released the “Cheapest Hotel Room Prices Ranking in 37 Global Cities,” in which the city with the lowest average accommodation price is Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, while New York City in the United States is the most expensive. Taipei ranked 26th in this ranking..

TripAdvisor used 37 cities most frequently searched by travelers over the past year as the benchmark, and ranked them based on the average price of a one-night stay including breakfast at 4-star or higher hotels in each city from October to December 2015.

Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, ranked first as the most affordable with an average price of NT$2,270 per night, followed by Moscow, the capital of Russia, and San José, the capital of Costa Rica, in second and third places, respectively.

With the cheap comes the expensive—among the 37 cities, the highest average price for a one-night stay including breakfast is in New York City, USA, costing an average of NT$16,785. Tokyo, Japan, and Paris, France, ranked second and third in terms of the most expensive room prices, with average one-night stays including breakfast at NT$12,622 and NT$12,612, respectively;Meanwhile, the average accommodation price for 4-star or higher hotels in Taipei is NT$7,522, ranking 26th among the 37 cities.
