Seeking investment opportunities during a BUSINESS TRIP
São Paulo, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- From November 19 to November 24, a leading organization of the Brazilian business community, LIDE - Grupo de Lideres Empresariais(Group of Business Leaders), will send a business delegation to Marrakech, Morocco. The Brazilian delegation, composed of corporate executives and government officials, aims to encourage and promote economic and trade exchanges between Brazil and Morocco. Asthe King of the African nation of Morocco,Mohammed VI will also participate in the bilateral talks agenda.
LIDE has been conductingthis activity for 11 years,and currently has 1,620 member companies, with a combined outputaccounting for52% of Brazil's private sector GDP, and chapters in 16 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa (including Morocco). The group’s goal is to disseminate and strengthen ethical standards of corporate governance in the regions where its member companies operate, while fostering and encouraging the development of business relationships.
During theENCONTRO BILATERAL BRASIL-MARROCOS(Brazil-Morocco Bilateral Talks), the Brazilian delegation will engage in multiple rounds of business discussions with Moroccan officials and business leaders. Federal Senate President Renan Calheiros (Renan Calheiros), Civil Aviation Minister Moreira Franco (Moreira Franco), Tourism Minister Vinicius Lages (Vinicius Lages), Goiás State Governor Marconi Perillo, Senator Luis Henrique da Silveira (Luis Henrique da Silveira), and Brazilian Ambassador to Morocco Frederico Duque Estrada (Frederico Duque Estrada), as well as former Development, Industry and Trade Minister Luiz Fernando Furlan (Luiz Fernando Furlan), are among the Brazilian officials scheduled to participate in the discussions.
Brazilian corporate executives from the pharmaceutical, food, aviation, electronics, automotive, health, and insurance industrieswill take part in the bilateral talks to explore possibilities for creating synergies and developing business opportunities in Morocco.
Confirmed Moroccan officials and business leaders attending the talks include Tourism Minister Lahcen Haddad (Lahcen Haddad), Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar (Salaheddine Mezouar), Royal Air Maroc CEO Abdelhamid Addou (Driss Benhima), CGEM(Confederation Générale des Entreprises du Maroc, Moroccan Enterprise Confederation)President Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, and LIDE Morocco Chapter President Hassan Aitali.
At the seminars to be held by both sidesFinally,led by Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, the CGEM(General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises)and LIDE -Grupo de Lideres Empresariais('Group of Business Leaders', or Business Leaders Group) will sign a document known as a "Memorandum of Understanding." The aim is to promote the exchange of information and experience, and to seek mutual benefits for LIDE member companies in both countries, based on the principles of cooperation and respect for each nation’s sovereignty and laws.
