The travel website TripAdvisor recently announced its 2014 list of the world’s top 25 travel destinations. Istanbul, Turkey, took the top spot, while Rome and London ranked second and third, respectively.

This year, several Asian cities made the top 25. In addition to Turkey, which spans both Europe and Asia, cities such as Beijing and Hanoi were also included, with Bangkok and Chiang Mai representing Thailand. However, Japan, a favorite among many travelers, did not have any cities on the list.
