Agdal Garden

Covering an area of 400 hectares, Agdal Garden is a Muslim-style garden whose name originates from the Berber language, meaning “a grassy field surrounded by stone walls.” Established in the 12th century, it was restored and expanded in the 19th century to become the vast Agdal Garden.

The garden is rectangular in shape, measuring approximately 3.1 kilometers in length and 1.2–1.4 kilometers in width. It is planted with orange trees, lemon trees, fig trees, apricot trees, and pomegranate trees, while two rows of tall olive trees form shaded avenues that offer cool relief from the heat. Lush and vibrant, the garden bursts with life in spring as trees and flowers begin to sprout and bloom, adorning Agdal Garden like a beautifully dressed young girl displaying her endless charm. By autumn, the harvest season arrives, and the trees are laden with plump, ripe fruits, smiling welcome to visitors from all directions.
