Marrakech Museum

The Marrakech Museum was originally built to defend against enemy invasions and became a museum in 1997. The museum itself is an Andalusian-era building with very distinctive features, making it well worth a visit. Its most prominent feature is a large central courtyard.

In the middle of the courtyard of the Marrakech Museum, there is a fountain. Traditional seating is arranged throughout the space, complemented by a unique Turkish bath, distinctive roof tiles, and exquisitely carved doors. The museum houses a collection of traditional and contemporary Moroccan artworks, including historical books, coins, Moroccan pottery, jewelry, as well as cultural works from the Berber and Arab peoples. The main exhibits feature paintings and sculptures by notable artists. After admiring the art, visitors can take a rest under the cool shade of an umbrella, enjoy some tea, and chat.
