Beauvais

Beauvais is located on the Thérain River in the northern French region of Hauts-de-France, in the department of Oise. It is the capital of the Oise department and the third most populous city in the Hauts-de-France region. The area has been inhabited since the 1st century AD and is now a well-known tourist destination in France.

The most famous attraction in Beauvais is the Beauvais Cathedral, which was first built in 1225. It is an exceptionally grand Catholic Gothic church. The streets near the cathedral feature many houses dating from the 12th to the 16th centuries, as well as the Church of Saint-Antoine and the 16th-century Bishop’s Palace. The Oise Departmental Museum, the Aviation Museum, and the National Tapestry Gallery are important places to learn about Beauvais’ history, art, and social life.
