Tongxiao Beach

Tongxiao Beach is located on the western side of Tongxiao Township, Miaoli County, and is the largest beach in central Taiwan. Its facilities are very well-developed, featuring miles of fine white sand that are said to be the most stunning part of the island’s west coast. The beach is well-planned and divided into inner and outer sections. The outer beach offers a vast area for activities with plenty of open space, suitable for a wide range of trendy water sports; the inner sea features tempered seawater drawn from the cooling system of the Tongxiao Thermal Power Plant, creating a natural warm-water swimming pool. Next to the beach is also a windbreak forest that provides ample shade, with a camping area beneath the trees that can accommodate 200 people. The campsite includes wooden tables and chairs, making it extremely convenient.
