Miaoli County – To promote local cultural and creative industries, the “Miaoli Cultural Creativity Film” was produced, documenting the profound journey of how traditional crafts are innovated. The film is divided into three themes: “Handmade,” “Heart,” and “Smile,” showcasing touching moments of cultural creativity workers. A lottery event has also been launched where participants can like and share the film. From now until March 20, visitors to the website Shouzuo. Xin. Weixiao (www.miaoli-creative.org) can watch and choose their favorite films.By logging into Facebook, liking the content, and sharing it on their timeline, they have a chance to win great prizes such as an iPad 2, Wi-Fi devices, and Sony digital cameras.

The film content records three important processes of Miaoli’s cultural creativity industry: the process of traditional craftsmanship, the process of creative expression, and the process of creative living. The film also incorporates emotions at different levels. It showcases how numerous traditional industries—such as wood carving, pottery, brick kilns, and fabric dyeing—are given aesthetic value and new life through the ingenuity of designers. Through these visuals, the public can experience the dedication of cultural creativity workers and be inspired to visit these creative parks.

Additionally, the public can show their love for Miaoli in various ways—whether through travel stories, food reviews, or tales related to Miaoli’s cultural creativity—by submitting them to the “I Love Miaoli Essay Competition.” From now until March 20, participants can publish their articles on a blog and send the URL to the event email event@miaoli-creative.org, or send the article as an attachment. The email subject must be labeled “Handmade. Heart. Smile: I Love Miaoli Essay Competition,” along with contact information to qualify. Prizes include an iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, Eslite Bookstore gift vouchers, and Miaoli cultural creativity merchandise. To encourage submissions, all participants in the essay competition will receive a “Handmade. Heart. Smile Limited Edition Deluxe DVD.”
