Summer vacation is approaching, and travel expenses may rise considerably this year. Out of the original seven free venues in Miaoli County, six will start charging fees from July 1. These include the Miaoli Hakka Roundhouse, Minnan Academy, Saisiyat Cultural Museum, Atayal Cultural Museum, Miaoli Specialty Hall, Hakka Grand Courtyard, and Camellia Park, each with varying ticketing policies and rates. Zhuang, head of the Planning Division of Miaoli County Government, stated:Currently, only the Miaoli Specialty Hall remains free as it has been leased to a private operator.”
Although fees will be introduced starting July 1, Miaoli County Government also plans to hold a lucky draw at the Atayal Cultural Museum as a customer appreciation event. All visitors entering between July 1 and September 30 will be eligible to participate, with the prize being a souvenir.
The future admission fees for the seven major venues under Miaoli County Government are as follows:
1. Hakka Roundhouse: General admission NT$30, group ticket NT$20, local resident discount NT$10
2. Minnan Academy: General admission NT$50, group ticket NT$30, and concessionary ticket NT$20
3. Saisiyat Cultural Museum: General admission NT$30, group ticket NT$20, and concessionary ticket NT$10; all indigenous residents of the county are admitted free of charge.
4. Atayal Cultural Museum: General admission NT$50, group ticket NT$30, and concessionary ticket NT$20; all indigenous residents of the county are admitted free of charge.
5. Miaoli Specialty Hall:Remains free for the time being.
6. Hakka Grand Courtyard:Admission fees are NT$80 and NT$50 respectively.
7. Camellia Park:Admission fees are NT$80 and NT$50 respectively.
Additionally, the following individuals may enter free of charge upon presenting valid proof:
1. Children under the age of 6
2. Individuals with disabilities holding a disability certificate and one accompanying essential person
3. Citizens aged 65 or above
4. Individuals holding a low-income certificate
